The Boy that Was

The Boy That Was

The boy that was, the man who is;
years of time, moments of experience,
these are what make the difference.
One becomes the other.

It feels good to leave the boy behind,
yet I am sad to know I shall only see him
in backward glances.

I miss the boy that was.
I believe he is happy where he is.
I shall visit him again someday.
