Our Inheritance from God
1 Peter 1:3-5
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

It is from God that all blessings flow, including our new birth into the living hope of salvation and resurrection. We have been translated out of a life of fear and into a life of hope for today and the future. We are being protected now by the invisible and invincible power of God until we reach heaven where our inheritance is being kept intact for us. This inheritance is not wages which we have earned but the gift our father in heaven wishes for us to have. It is our faith in God that overcomes all enemies and circumstances. It is not us which overcomes but God and his promises to us that overcomes on our behalf. There is a time coming when all things will be set right by God. When Jesus returns for his saints then it shall be revealed what God has intended for us and we shall inherit that which God has prepared for us.
Many have speculated over the last 2,000 years what our inheritance will be. None will know until the day it is revealed to all who will receive it.
