Man and Wife
A Chuck Weiskircher Poem © 6/17/2014

With these words start a new life
I now pronounce you man and wife.
Together the two now become one
And that is only the start of the fun.

It is easier for two to live together
And face the storms of harsh weather.
Each has a gift that they bring
And to each other they can cling.

Finding out how to forgive each day
And together on our knees we pray.
We plan for our future and what to do
And where to go for fun with the crew.

The man and his wife share good times
While saving up their nickels and dimes.
Warms summer days and cool winter evenings
Add much joy and a deeper sense meaning.

Both the husband and the wife
Know the other will be there for life.
They share their stories, hopes and fears
As they live together through the years.

Children will come or maybe not
Life is not easy we all are taught.
One thing is true for everyone’s marriage
Rarely do a couple ride off in a carriage.

Before you want it the end draws near
For the one to be left there is much fear.
The strength to face tomorrow comes from God
So together in prayer our heads will nod.
